The airport in Tripoli is open. Many international air carriers are increasing the number of seats available to respond to increasing demand for flights from Libya. These include Egypt Air, Lufthansa, Austrian Air and others. U.S. citizens wishing to depart Libya at this time should contact the airlines directly without delay. U.S. citizens who require assistance in departing Libya should contact the U.S. State Department at 001-202-501-4444 or via email at LibyaEmergencyUSC@state.gov or the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli at 091-220-5207.

All U.S. citizens in Libya are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) at the following website: https://travelregistration.state.gov. By enrolling, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency.
