POSITION: Security Guard, FSN-3

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
The United States Embassy in Tripoli is seeking individuals for the full time (40 hours/week) position of Security Guard. Female candidates are encouraged to apply for this position.
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
This position provides protective services to USG employees and facilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Secondary School is required.
- Prior military, law enforcement or security work is required.
- English level I (Rudimentary knowledge) reading, writing and speaking is required. Arabic level IV (fluency) reading, writing and speaking is required.
- Must be able to follow guard orders and to take action in the event of an emergency.
- Knowledge of local law enforcement and security institutions is required.
SELECTION PROCESS:
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (EFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- Current employees are not eligible to apply for advertised positions within the first six months of their employment.
