Procurement Supervisor

NOTE:  All applicants who are not the Family Members of USG employees officially assigned to post and under Chief of Mission Authority must be a Libyan Citizen to be eligible for consideration.

POSITION: Procurement Supervisor, FSN-9
OPENING DATE: June 23th, 2009
CLOSING DATE: July 7th, 2009
WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week


The United States Embassy in Tripoli is seeking an individual for the full time (40 hours/week) position of Procurement Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

Supervises Procurement Office which has responsibility of obtaining goods and services for U.S. Government in Libya in accordance with Mission policies, State Department regulations, and U.S. laws.  

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of secondary school.
      Three years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, or logistics positions. 
  • One year experience in an office environment is desirable. 
  •   Level III (good working knowledge) reading, writing and speaking English language is required.  Level IV Level (Fluent) reading, writing and speaking Arabic language is required.
  • Possess familiar with basic Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook Explorer, Excel, and Word.  Must be able to define, analyze, and research procurement requests with minimum supervision. Must be detailed-oriented, and able to produce procurement action accurately.  

SELECTION PROCESS:
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (EFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference.  Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
  2. Current employees are not eligible to apply for advertised positions within the first three months of their employment.
