In order to apply for a visa, all tourist/business travelers (visa type B1/B2) must follow the below application steps:

Step 1: Complete a DS-160 online application form for each person traveling and upload a digital photo of each applicant which meets our standards. Print the confirmation sheet with the barcode. Tips on uploading the photo and completing the DS-160

 Step 2: Schedule your visa interview appointment via our online appointment system (you will need the barcode from the your DS-160 confirmation sheet).

Step 3: On the day of your appointment, please come to the Embassy at our new Bin Ashour location no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your appointment time.  Applicants will be allowed into the consular section according to their appointment time. Do not be late, or you risk losing your appointment slot. Please bring the following documents to your appointment:

1. Passport valid for the intended duration of travel to the U.S. with at least one blank page.
2. $131 U.S. dollars (or Libyan Dinar equivalent) for the non-refundable visa application fee. **NOTE: This fee will increase to $140 U.S. dollars after June 4th.  Please bring exact change in one currency only. This is the application fee per traveler.
3. DS-160 application confirmation sheet (which has the bar code printed on it)
4. A photograph according to the photo requirements
5. Appointment confirmation sheet
6. In addition to the above requirements, applicants should be prepared to clearly demonstrate their economic, family and social ties to their country of residence.  All applicants must convince the interviewing officer of their ability to independently travel to the United States for the intended purpose, and their intention to return to their home countries following a temporary visit to the United States.

**ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A DS-160 CONFIRMATION SHEET, AN APPOINTMENT, AND MUST APPEAR FOR A VISA INTERVIEW (EVEN INFANTS AND CHILDREN). PREPARE TO SPEND SEVERAL HOURS AT THE CONSULAR SECTION FOR VISA PROCESSING AND INTERVIEWING.**

PLAN FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING

Some applicants will need additional screening, and will be notified when they apply. This administrative processing can take several weeks, so applicants are encouraged to apply well in advance of travel plans.

الخطوات الأساسية لعملية التقدم لتأشيرة إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية هي كالتالي:   

 على كل المتقدمين لتأشيرات السياحة او العمل إتباع الخطوات التالية:

 خطوة رقم 1: عن طريق موقع السفارة الأمريكية  قم بتعبئة نموذج DS-160  عن طريق الإنترنت لكل شخص مسافر وحمل صورة مناسبة لكل متقدم.ثم قم بطباعة ورقة التأكيد بالباركود. نصائح عن كيفية تعبئة نموذج DS-160  متوفرة على شبكة الإنترنت.

 خطوة رقم 2: قم بتحديد موعد للمقابلة لكل متقدم عن طريق نظام مواعيدنا الإلكتروني ( ستحتاج إلى الباركود المتوفر بورقة التأكيد الخاصة بنموذج DS-160  )

 خطوة رقم 3: في يوم المقابلة، رجاءا تفضل بزيارة القسم القنصلي في توقيت ليس أبكر من 30 دقيقة من موعد المقابلة.

المتقدمين سيسمح لهم بالدخول إلى القسم القنصلي بناءا على مواعيدهم. رجاءا لا تتأخر وإلا قد تخسر موعدك. كل متقدم عليه إحضار المستندات التالية للمقابلة: 

1. جواز سفر صالح للفترة المرغوبة للسفر يحتوي على صفحة واحدة خالية على الأقل
2. القيمة 131 دولار أمريكي أو (أو مايعادلها بالدينار الليبي) لتكاليف التأشيرة غير قابلة للإسترداد. ملحوظة  سيرتفع المبلغ الى 140 دولار إبتداءاً من يوم 4/6/2010 ، يرجى إحضار المبلغ المطلوب بالتحديد هذه القيمة للمسافر الواحد. رجاءا قم بإحضار المبلغ بالتحديد  من نفس نوع العملة (الكل بالدينار فقط أوالكل بالدولار الأمريكي). هذه القيمة يجب دفعها من قبل كل مسافر.
3.  ورقة تأكيد نموذج DS-160  (الباركود مطبوع عليها)
4. صورة واحدة بمقاييس 5سم في 5سم وخلفية بيضاء، رجاءا أنظر إلى موقعنا على الإنترنت لتفاصيل أكثر عن متطلبات الصورة.
5. ورقة تأكيد الموعد.
6. بالإضافة إلى المستندات المطلوبة أعلاه، على المتقدمين أن يكونوا جاهزين لشرح بوضوح عن روابطهم الإقتصادية، العائلية و الإجتماعية لبلد إقامتهم. على كل المتقدمين إقناع القنصل بقدرتهم على السفر بشكل مستقل إلى الولايات المتحدة للغرض المقصود، وعلى رغبتهم في العودة لموطنهم بعد إنتهاء زيارتهم المؤقتة إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.

 ** يطلب من كل متقدم أن يكون لديه الصفحة التأكيدية لنموذج DS-160 وورقة تأكيد الموعد ، ويجب عليه الظهور شخصياً لمقابلة التأشيرة (حتى الرضع والأطفال). ويجب أن يستعد لقضاء بضعة ساعات في القسم القنصلي لمعالجة التأشيرات وإجراء المقابلات **.

 بعض المتقدمين قد يحتاجون إلى بعض الإجراءات الإدارية على طلبات تأشيراتهم، وسيتم إعلامهم عند التقديم. الإجراءات الإدارية قد تستغرق بضعة أسابيع، لهذا فعلى المتقدمين التقدم قبل فترة كافية من موعد سفرهم.
