Acting Assistant Secretary Jeffrey Feltman visits Libya

Acting Assistant Secretary Jeffrey Feltman visits Libya to Discuss the Bilateral Relationship

On July 25th and July 26th, Acting Assistant Secretary Jeffrey Feltman visited Libya in what represents the highest level visit by a State Department official since U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited Tripoli in September, 2008.   Acting Assistant Secretary Feltman met with Libyan officials as well as Embassy staff.  On Sunday, July 26th, Acting Assistant Secretary Feltman held a Press Roundtable with members of the international and local media.  Acting Assistant Secretary Feltman highlighted the historic improvement in the bilateral relationship and called for greater cooperation concerning political, economic, commercial, educational, and cultural issues.
